Hand spun and hand dyed yarn

examples of yarn spun in the studio, hand dyed as well

Spinning is often part of our day, sitting in the bay window of the dining room, enjoying the sunshine and watching the birds flitting about. The fibres used are mostly wool as we are partial to the warmth, comfort and sustainability of the wool fleece. Silk is another favourite fibre with its shiny texture, strength and softness.

We have studied at Olds College and taught the Master Spinner Certificate programme for several years and discovered that there is a lot to learn about spinning. We also have discovered that it is simple to make a yarn which will hold together.  We have a monthly get together at the studio and offer instruction at that time, plus a lot of good conversation.
