There are a variety of items being produced in this studio. As we live in a wonderful small town, close to wildlife and a fairly mild, but very snowy climate, the opportunities abound to be stimulated and inspired. We also grow a challenging garden with lots of herbs which often find their way into some of the products. We had a dog for 14 years who is no longer alive but who has left us with some still to be used fibre. We pick huckleberries, poplar buds and sometimes come home with a pretty rock or stick which may or may not get used in a product.
I do not have any fibre bearing animals so most buy my wool, alpaca, silk and other fibre which means that I help with other people’s cash flow. At least I like to think so. I buy locally as much as possible as I like to know where products come from. I try to buy as environmentally consciously as possible as well.
