I am a fibre artist, soap maker, married for a million years and have three grown children. We travel to visit the two who live at least a day’s drive away when we can. We live in a small town so going to the city gives an opportunity to pick up used books, a bit of yarn and help out. My mother also lives in a bigger city which we enjoy visiting and it also has a yarn shop.
I have a wonderful full studio where I can dye, weave, make soap and teach students. My spinning is done in the room which is supposed to be a dining room. It has a dining table in it which gets used at holidays or when the kids come home. I have several spinning wheels and invite my friends to come and spin once a month. We do a lot of talking as well as spinning. I will sometimes go to my studio and then stay there most of the day, mixing up dyes, soaps, winding a warp or carding some fibre. I love to get my hands into the wool as it makes me feel so warm and creative.
